The Head and delegation of Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue met with the Ambassador of Palestine to Iraq, Ahmed Aql, at the embassy headquarters in Baghdad to discuss developments surrounding the Palestinian cause and the role of research and study centers in supporting it.
The delegation included the Head of the Forum, Ali Al-Talqani; forum member Ahmed Jwaied; Director of Public Relations, Uday Al-Hajj; and Director of Follow-Up, Falah Al-Hussainy.
During his remarks, the Palestinian Ambassador emphasized "the position of research and study centers and civil society organizations, including Al-Nabaa Forum for Dialogue, which supports and stands by the Palestinian cause and people against the plots hatched against our people, specifically the Deal of the Century and the Manama Workshop, and the readiness of these centers and community organizations to support the State of Palestine and its people in resisting the Zionist occupation."
The Ambassador addressed topics concerning the Palestinian cause, especially about the Warsaw Conference, touching upon the Deal of the Century announced by U.S. President Trump and recently presented at the Manama Workshop. He pointed out that "this deal is not in the interest of the Palestinian people and must be confronted," while calling on "national and democratic parties and forces, as well as civil society, to mobilize Arab, Islamic, and international public opinion against the dangers of the Deal of the Century and American hegemony over the region's resources."
The Palestinian Ambassador explained that "several events contributed to consolidating Israel's presence in the region, including the Arab Spring revolutions, which preoccupied Arab peoples and governments from exercising their historical role in rejecting this regime, in addition to the phenomenon of terrorism that struck the region and paralyzed its movement. Furthermore, Israel targets the entire region, and its hostility is not limited to the Palestinian people, as it stems from ideological heritage that defines the borders of the State of Israel from the Euphrates to the Nile."
For his part, Al-Talqani told a reporter for Al-Nabaa News Agency that "the goal of the visit and the meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq is to consolidate bilateral relations between the two brotherly peoples on the one hand, and between the embassy, research and study centers, and civil society organizations on the other. It is also to emphasize joint action between the two sides to organize conferences, workshops, training courses, and exhibitions that serve the Palestinian cause, in addition to discussing the ramifications of the Deal of the Century, external and internal roles, and the deal's implications for the region internationally, regionally, and in the Arab world."
He added that "the Deal of the Century offers no prospect of guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people. Moreover, this naming or term, 'Deal of the Century', coined by U.S. President Trump, reflects his approach to dealing with issues from an economic and commercial perspective rather than a political and legal one. Furthermore, the propositions presented by Trump regarding this deal constitute a clear and explicit violation of peremptory norms of international law, illustrating his lack of faith in resolving crises and conflicts through peaceful and diplomatic means, particularly in the Arab region."
